What is Invisalign?
Invisalign is a trusted, non-invasive device used to straighten teeth and improve overall oral health in teens and adults. Our transparent aligners are designed for discreet, temporary use and are custom made to fit your smile. Whether you are interested in improving the aesthetic appearance of your teeth or addressing oral health concerns, treatment with Invisalign can begin at any age! Invisalign is the superior treatment option for both adults and teens because it is removable and barely noticeable, allowing for comfortable use and little interference in your usual daily routine.
We want you to be proud of your smile!
How does Invisalign straighten teeth?
Invisalign works by gradually shaping your dental alignment until you reach the best possible smile. The dental team will begin with making custom moulds of your teeth and bite as they are now, to create a movement plan for your aligners. Each set of aligners will progressively shift your teeth from their original placement to the final, straightened position as chosen by you and your dentist.
Each time you start with a new aligner, you may feel some slight pressure on your teeth. Over time the force is expected to fade as you become used to the aligner, and most patients report experiencing little discomfort. Aligners should be worn for about 20 hours per day, and each one is used for 1-2 weeks at a time. The length of treatment varies but typically lasts one year for adults.
Why choose Invisalign?
- Invisalign is discreet:
Invisalign has remained a popular treatment for almost 20 years because it offers many benefits to both your oral appearance and health. Unlike traditional metal braces, Invisalign is a nearly invisible treatment that is easily removed for special occasions or cleanings.
- The aligners are removable:
Our aligners can be taken out when eating or drinking – there are no problematic maintenance procedures or food restrictions associated with Invisalign. This flexibility makes it the perfect option for teens and adults who want to fix their smile but are worried about the inconvenience and visibility of braces.
- They offer potential health and financial benefits:
In addition to the comfort and convenience of Invisalign, our aligners also offer several health benefits to improve the way you feel and prevent future costs associated with poor oral health.
Several health problems including gum disease, cavities, and jaw pain are associated with misaligned teeth. Investing in Invisalign today can not only protect you from such future discomfort but also reduce the potential cost of further treatments.
What happens after treatment?
Once you’ve achieved your ideal smile, you will need a retainer to maintain the correct placement of your teeth.
A sturdy retainer is essential because teeth are especially vulnerable to shifting out of place in the first year after treatment. Retainers should be worn about 20 hours a day for the first six months after finishing the Invisalign regimen. However, as the position of your teeth begins to stabilize, retainers only need to be worn at night.
While there are many options for retainers after treatment, Vivera retainers use the same technology as Invisalign to create a custom-made retainer. They are transparent and removable just like Invisalign aligners and are also 30% stronger than other brands of clear retainers.
Vivera retainers not only maintain newly straightened dental alignment but are also able to correct any minor shifting that may occur.
